Dr Edwin Libamba is a strong advocate for women’s issues because he believes in the fundamental role women have in creating a healthy society.

Dr. Libamba is a public health specialist and has served as Technical Advisor and team lead in Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care Needs Assessments in a number of countries including Malawi, Zambia, Ghana, The Gambia, South Sudan and more recently in Ethiopia. Edwin is also a regional consultant for AMDD (Averting Maternal Death and Disability) wing of Columbia University responsible for strengthening health systems to provide emergency care for all women experiencing life-threatening obstetric complications including conducting research and policy analysis.

Dr Ediwn Libamba graduated with a BSc Degree in Medical Sciences from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland; holds a medical degree (MB BS) from the University of Malawi and a Master of Public Health from the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom. Dr Libamba has co-authored over 20 publications in international peer reviewed journals.
