Prof. Bernal expresses her passion for securing the well-being of infants, children and adolescents through her research on nutrition and, in particular, her work on the life-cycle of food. Jennifer Bernal is regularly called on to draw on that specialty in her consultative work. Jennifer’s overarching aim is to help build a healthy world, equitable, just and peaceful by applying what she has learnt over more than 18 years in academia to solve food, nutrition and health problems worldwide.
Jennifer Bernal formulated studies on how mixed-methods and global analysis may be used in evidence-based intervention design including developing policies for program monitoring and evaluation. Jennifer also advises the Colombian National Nutrition Survey, and the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition in Geneva.
Prof. Bernal earned a Doctorate in Science, and a Master in Human Nutrition at the University Simon Bolivar in Venezuela.
