Olufunmilayo Olufunmilola Banjo is passionate about seeing all women empowered in Africa so as to be able to take better decisions about their own health and that of their children and believes that multi-disciplinary collaboration in policy-oriented research is the means to achieve that goal.
A Lecturer and a researcher, at Obafemi Awolowo University, Dr Banjo’s research focus is on children’s health as well as sexual and reproductive health among the youth, including sexual and reproductive health among adolescents with physical disabilities, and fertility among married women in sub-Saharan Africa.
Dr Banjo earned a doctorate and a Master of Science in Demography & Social Statistics at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Nigeria.
